Why study music theory?
A question I have often been asked is “Why should I study music theory?’ This short presentation aims to answer this question briefly. Over a period of 20 years in the tutoring field, I saw a marked difference between those who would study music theory and those that refused to. Those that included such study were in a very opportunistic position no matter how they decided to include music in their life, whether it be for private enjoyment or as a career or community based activity.
